Five Minutes to Reflection: My Walk to Maʿālimut-Tanzeel

A Beautiful Walk with Purpose 🌿📖

Today’s walk took me to Maʿālimut-Tanzeel — a Qur’an memorisation centre right by the lake, just a five-minute stroll from Tamara Residence.

I usually come here twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, to revise Qur’an with my teacher and improve my recitation. There’s something special about combining a peaceful walk with something so meaningful — it really sets the tone for the day.

The centre itself is set in an incredible lakeside environment, calm and reflective — the perfect place to reconnect with the Qur’an.

Maʿālimut-Tanzeel Institution in Malaysia is an integrated educational centre dedicated to teaching the Holy Qur’an, its sciences, and the Arabic language for non-native speakers. It aims to nurture a Qur’anic generation grounded in strong Islamic values, offering structured programmes for students of all ages and nationalities.

Afterwards, I enjoyed an Ice Cold Long black from 10g with my good friend Hazmal right up until the call of prayer for noon prayers — a simple but perfect way to round off a peaceful and productive morning.

There’s something fitting about that moment too — historically, coffee has long been associated with Muslim scholars, helping them stay awake through long nights of worship, reflection, and study. In a small way, it felt like continuing a tradition of pairing knowledge with focus and presence.

A place of knowledge, reflection, and growth — and I’m grateful it’s right on my doorstep.

Then see the sign for the eye clinic

Then walk up the gray stairs

Then enter the Quran center!

Afterwards have coffee…
