Daily Walk Reflection – Do and Repeat Until It Becomes a Habit
Daily Walk Reflection – Do and Repeat Until It Becomes a Habit
This morning’s walk carried a simple but important theme: Do and repeat, do and repeat — until it becomes a habit. Don’t overthink it, just walk.
Farah and I left for our walk at around 7:30am. The heat and humidity this morning were intense, perhaps one of the hottest mornings we’ve experienced in a long time. It was a complete contrast to yesterday’s gentle drizzle and cool atmosphere. SubhanAllah, how quickly Allah changes the conditions around us. One morning brings rain and calmness, another brings heat and discomfort — yet both are reminders from Allah and both contain blessings for the believer.

Alhamdulillah, there was no illegal fishing activity this morning, which brought some relief and peace to the walk. Along the path near Terra, we spotted some beautiful flowers blooming despite the harsh heat. It reminded me how creation continues its purpose without complaint. The flowers do not overthink whether to bloom; they simply obey the decree of Allah.
On the way back, we searched for the location of the new Jaya Grocer that is expected to open in December 2026, in sha Allah. We took a few photos of the main entrance of the Terra shopping complex while exploring the area.
Walk through video and photos of the main entrance of the Terra (very rare and early footage!!!)

We ended the walk at ZUS Coffee with a hot Americano and an iced Americano. The heat was still strong enough that we had to move our seats toward the back where it was cooler.
The lesson of this morning was clear: consistency matters more than emotion. Many people wait for motivation before acting, but the understanding of the Salaf was different. They trained themselves upon righteous habits until those actions became part of their lives.
Quran Verse
“And those who strive for Us — We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.”
— Surah Al-‘Ankabut (29:69)
The scholars of the Salaf understood that guidance often comes after striving, not before it. You walk first, then Allah places barakah in the walk. You continue first, then discipline slowly becomes natural.
Hadith
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim
This is the way of lasting change: not giant temporary efforts, but small repeated actions done sincerely for Allah.
The Salaf would often focus less on dramatic moments and more on steady obedience. A person who quietly continues beneficial habits every day may reach places that a person of bursts of motivation never reaches.
Today’s walk was another reminder:
Don’t overthink every step. Just begin. Then repeat. Then repeat again. Until what once felt difficult becomes part of who you are.
