A Quiet Walk, A Small Reunion, and Unexpected Blessings

Today’s walk began a little differently. Farah decided to enjoy a well-earned lie-in, so I headed out alone. Walking solo sharpens your awareness—you notice things you might otherwise miss.
One of the highlights came early. I was genuinely excited to see Jerry—the kitten I used to feed by the lake. I hadn’t seen him for several months, and in that time you start to wonder what happened. But there he was. Safe, familiar, and a reminder that sometimes Allah preserves what we quietly care about, even when it’s out of sight.

Not everything went smoothly though. At one point, an insect flew straight into my left eye—one of those moments that instantly breaks your rhythm. I made my way to the new public bathrooms at Terra to wash it out… and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much.
But the place looked like something out of a 5-star hotel. Clean, modern, well-lit—it completely changed the experience. What could have been a frustrating moment turned into a small appreciation of how well things are maintained around the lake.

After that, I took a moment to stretch, facing Putra Mosque. There’s something grounding about orienting yourself toward a place of worship, even outside of formal prayer. The stillness, the architecture—it shifts your mindset.
New Ticket Office:
As today was Public a holiday, 1st May 2026, the lake itself was much busier than usual—more walkers, more families, more life. Likely the long weekend effect, but it brought a different kind of energy.
To round things off, I stopped at Zus Coffee. I had a voucher for a free coffee, and to top it off, they gave me a free bottle of mineral water too. Another small, unexpected bonus.
There’s a quiet theme to today: unexpected moments.
A kitten reappearing.
A bathroom that feels like a hotel.
A free coffee turning into two small gifts.
Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152)
And the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.” (Reported in Sunan Abi Dawud)
