Daily Walk Reflection – Today

Daily Walk Reflection – Today

Set out from Tamara around 11:30am, making my way toward the Quran Center under intense heat and heavy humidity — one of those walks where every step reminds you of the tropical climate. Despite the conditions, there’s something grounding about staying consistent.

On the return journey, I stopped by 99 Speedmart to pick up a few household essentials — a practical pause before heading back.

Later in the afternoon, around 3pm, I came across a beautiful flower blooming opposite DPulze Shopping Centre. A small but striking moment — a reminder that even on the hottest days, there’s still beauty to notice if you slow down.

The flower we found according to Chat GPT.

Indian Coral Tree, scientifically called Erythrina variegata.

🧠 How we can tell:

* Bright red/orange thick petals
* Often fall off and look like a 5-point star (exactly like yours)
* Slightly fleshy / waxy texture
* Usually found under roadside or coastal trees in Malaysia

🇲🇾 Local name in Malaysia:

👉 Bunga Dedap
(also sometimes just called “Pokok Dedap” for the tree)

🌳 Where you’ll see it:

* Beach areas (Langkawi especially 👌)
* Parks and roadside plantings
* Resort landscaping (very likely where you found it)
