Todays Daily Walk. Theme: Steadiness Through Slippery Moments.

This morning the sky was completely grey with no sign of the sun at all. The weather felt calm, heavy and quiet. I did the usual walking route as normal. Along the way I slipped slightly on some rain water, but Alhamdulillah I managed to regain balance and did not fall. It reminded me how life itself can sometimes be like that. Not every slip leads to disaster, and not every difficult moment means failure. Sometimes Allah simply reminds us to slow down, be careful and continue moving forward.

During the walk, I was also thinking about an accident near the lake yesterday which a friend witnessed. A motorbike had apparently collided with a pedestrian. Seeing or hearing about such incidents reminds us how fragile life can be and how quickly an ordinary day can suddenly change. Whether walking, driving or riding, we should never become careless or distracted.

A simple moment of caution can protect lives.

Allah says in the Quran:

“And do not throw yourselves with your own hands into destruction.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:195)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although there is good in both. Be keen on what benefits you, seek help from Allah and do not give up.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2664)

ʿAli ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه said:

“Patience to faith is like the head to the body. If the head is cut off, the body perishes.”

(Ibn Abi Shaybah, Al-Musannaf 34387; Al-Bayhaqi, Shu‘ab al-Iman 42)

The grey skies, slippery paths and reflections on yesterday’s accident all carried the same reminder today: life is delicate, and every safe step we take is a blessing from Allah. We plan our routes and routines, but ultimately our safety remains in the hands of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

Alhamdulillah for another walk completed.
